Killer Cannoli (A Terrified Detective Mystery…is about Claire, her father (a widower), and her Aunt Lena (a widow who owns Cannoli’s-a bakery/cafe). Claire’s uncle had a detective agency and she worked there helping out. When he retired, he handed the agency over to Claire. Usually, her cases are about getting proof of cheating spouses, nothing dangerous. That is until, Aunt Lena’s boyfriend, Larry (not his real name as Claire eventually finds out) is killed at Cannoli’s.

The business is closed until the local police and Detective Corrigan say it’s okay to go back to work. In the meantime, Claire takes on the task of trying to solve the case, even though Detective Corrigan has warned her how dangerous it is for her. Aunt Lena stays with Claire’s father, while the police watch her house, which upsets everyone’s routines. Aunt Lena convinces Ed, who works with Claire on some cases, to take her back to her house to pick up some things. Ed ends up being knocked out and Aunt Lena being kidnapped. Claire goes into overdrive to get Aunt Lena back.

But, at what cost? Will she endanger herself and Aunt Lena? Will she figure out who is behind Larry’s (aka Joey) murder and the other murders, that seem to be connected to the mob? This story is suspenseful, quick paced, and one that would make a great movie. I highly recommend this story.
