I’m not kidding. Turns out, if you accidentally set even one Duke on fire, everyone calls you ‘Calamity Penny’ for the rest of your life. So when the king sends me to drag the wayward prince back home, I think it’s some kind of joke.

Except it’s not.

Turns out my “Bad at my job” schtick is exactly why I’ve been chosen for this job no one else wanted. It seems the prince can spot a guard from a mile away. So he’ll never see me coming.

I’m supposed to find him, get him to trust me, and convince him to come home, completing my mission and finally making my parents proud. Easy right? Wrong.

Because I’m not allowed to tell him who I am. That’s right, I’m going undercover as the girl next door. To make matters worse, no one told me is that the prince is sex-on-a-stick who thinks I smell good.
